thank you

Hello there. I happened to look at the Simon Monday challenge and it said that the theme was thank you. So i had a rummage through my pics and discovered this from some time ago. But it's never been blogged.

The topper is worked on A6 Clarity coated card. I brayered the sky, after masking off the moon, with distress inks. I'm guessing I used tumbled glass, broken china, stormy sky and chipped sapphire.
Then I brayered the hills with the help of a piece of torn copy paper and peeled paint and forest moss distress inks.
I added some clouds in the sky.

The images are all stamped with black archival ink and they are all from Claritystamp. After making sure that they were all dry i added some white highlights.
I matted it onto black card and then onto white base card.
And that was one thank you card done for the teacher.
Below is a pic of it with the pressie and matching tag.

So as always I do hope you like my offering and you know I love reading all your feedback, Theresa xx.

choo choo.....

Well i'm back with another male card. This was the one I made for my FIL. I must admit I really enjoyed making this especially the colouring bit.

On a piece of white card i stamped the main image in black archival ink. Then I added the 2 balloons.

Then I coloured it in using distress pens and a damp brush. I tried to give it an oldy worldy look as I think this really fits this image.

I then inked around the outside edges with chipped sapphire and black soot. This helps to lighten the main image.

The sentiment is from one of the sets. this time I stamped it in black and clear embossed it to give it an enamel - look reminiscent of the plaques at old train stations.
And it was as easy as that.

I do hope you like it. Thanks for all your comments, Theresa xx.

doodle pantry and digi stamps.....

Hello there. As they say there is a first time for everything and this is the first time for me with digi stamps. Through the Craft Room Door challenge blog gave me the opportunity to be a guest designer for them and the sponsor is Doodle Pantry. They have tons of images but I went for the Old Ship as I wanted to make father's day cards.

So above is the first card I created after I had printed off the images. This was the outline stamp which I coloured with distress markers. I used mermaid lagoon for the sea, abandoned coral for flag and fossilized amber for ship and sails.

I used 4 images to build up the layers. I don't know if you can see, but i slit along the waves and slotted in the first image to give a more realistic picture.
Then I cut less and less for each layer to give dimension. I shaped sails around my fingers before sticking them down with pinflair glue gel.

The background paper is included in image, I just cut it to size. The ship's wheel is a couture die.
The sentiment I printed off on word and cut in banner style.
Some matting, pearls and screw headed brads finish the card off.

I was quite inspired by this image and so far I have made 3 cards from the set.

I do hope you like my offering and I do read all your comments, Theresa xx

Please join us in this challenge. You can find the link here. The winner will get some images from doodle pantry. From what I have seen they are very good quality and print to a high resolution, so you will really enjoy using them.

These are the other 2 cards I made from the same set. I will be blogging them asap.

rain ....

Hello back again. Hopefully it is a much shorter post. Yesterday I was looking at the Less is more challenge and I got this image in my head and needed to get it down on paper. I hope I left enough white space this time.....

So i stamped umbrella man in black archival. Then I stamped sentiment in same ink and clear embossed it.

Then I used the faded dots stencil by Tim Holtz and inked versamark through it and clear embossed it. I think this resembles rain.

Using ink splats stencil and tumbled glass distress ink i sponged some ink through to resemble puddles.
Finally I used the water drops from Designs by Ryn to add an accent in lower corner.

And there it is. I managed to get it out my head. I do hope you like it, Theresa xx.

birds and flowers ...............

Hello my friends. Today I'm back with my first mother's day card. At home this is always the 2nd Sunday of May. This is my mum's card.

I started with a piece of linen card as I wanted to emulate the canvas look. Then I used Fresco paints and a brayer to create background. I used several colours including chocolate brown, space cadet, cheesecake, blush, guacamole and probably some others.

Once dry, I used grunge paste and a couple of stencils. While still wet I added tarnished gold and gold detail embossing powder to some of the grunge paste as I wanted to achieve a distressed look. When paste was dry I heat embossed it.

While waiting I set about the flowers. I stamped in black archival and coloured them by using he solid stamps and distress inks. This makes for quick colouring.
After fussy cutting them, I added distress glitter to centres.

For the birds I glued a piece of dictionary paper from basill basics to kraft card to make it sturdy, and stamped birds in Black archival twice. I decoupaged the wings and coloured with same paints as background . I fussy cut them and stuck them to background with pinflair glue gel for dimension. I added glossy accents to their eyes.

I assembled the flowers in 2 opposing corners and added some leaves. I distressed leaves by adding some embossing powder to them.
Then I stamped the sentiment on kraft card, cut out in a banner fashion and added faux stitching.
I then matted and layered and attached to kraft card.

I do hope you like my offering today. My mum sure did, Theresa xx

books and music .....

Hello there. Today I'm back with a card that I made some time ago now. It was for my older son's birthday but it seems I had forgotten to blog it.
Anyhow it features 2 of the things that he really enjoys, reading and music (he plays the piano).

I stamped the books on white card in black archival, and heat embossed. I then coloured with distress inks and a damp brush in several colours. I added some gold pen to some spines to enrich the books. I fussy cut image.

I stamped ink well in black archival and masked it off. I then stamped feather and clear embossed it. Again I added colour with distress inks and added glossy accents to ink well. Once dry, I fussy cut it.

Then I distressed a piece of music paper, added masks where I wanted the images to be, and inked shadows.
Then I added image with pinflair glue gel to give some dimension.
Sentiment was stamped on music paper and cut out with a spellbinders die and inked while still in die.
Images are all from Sheena's range while sentiment is from Claritystamp.

My son was thrilled with his card. I hope you like it too, Theresa xx

abandoned coral and jumbo poppy.....

Hello again. Today I have a small canvas for you that I have made for a friend of mine that loves poppies. However her birthday is at the end of the month so I need to hide it and make sure I don't post it on social media.....

So I started with a 6x6 canvas. The diamonds and ovals are 'waste' from a die that I had cut earlier. I triple mounted each for dimension and then attached to the canvas. Then I gessoed it 3 times for good coverage.

I then set about making the flower. It is the jumbo poppy by Stampendous. I stamped it in versamark and embossed it in black. I did several layers to decoupage it.

I coloured the flower with abandoned coral distress paint and added darker shading with barn door. For the centre I used shabby shutters and forest moss paints.

I assembled it and left it to dry. I then spritzed canvas with black dylusions and fossilized amber distress spray stain. I also added a little spritz of biscotti perfect pearls for a little bit of sparkle.

Once the flower was dry, I spritzed it with spray and shine to bring out the shine and give it more durability.
I left it to dry and added some shadow underneath the raised areas. I went round the outside edges with black soot distress paint and finally added ruby treasured gold and renaissance pebeo gilding wax.
Finally I attached flower to canvas and added some black swirls for some extra flourish.

So I really hope she will like her little pressie, Theresa xx
